- After about one year, the site was opened to the public.
- October 26, 2006
- After being open to the public for less than two months, WikiIslam came under its first bot-based vandalism attack. This resulted in a large number of pages being edited and moved by a vandalism bot. It took a few hours for editors to revert to their original states. Editing was restricted temporarily and the auto block system was created to protect the website against such attacks.
