Life without an atmosphere

SAHIH INTERNATIONAL 21:30 Have those who disbelieved not considered that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, and We separated them and made from water every living thing? Then will they not believe?

SAHIH INTERNATIONAL 21:32 And We made the sky a protected ceiling, but they, from its signs, are turning away

The quran states that the sky was made after life. However this is impossible due to to the fact that all water based life forms needs the biosphere in order to live. However some dont. Buth this is only few

The biosphere is the layer of the planet Earth where life exists. This layer ranges from heights of up to ten kilometres above sea level, used by some birds in flight, to depths of the ocean such as the Puerto Rico trench, at more than 8 kilometres deep. These are the extremes; however, in general the layer of the Earth containing life is thin: the upper atmosphere has little oxygen and very low temperatures, while ocean depths greater than 1000 m are dark and cold. In fact, it has been said that the biosphere is like the peel in relation to the size of an apple.

The development of the term is attributed to the English geologist Eduard Suess (1831-1914) and the Russian physicist Vladimir I. Vernadsky (1863-1945). The biosphere is one of the four layers that surround the Earth along with the lithosphere (rock), hydrosphere (water) and atmosphere (air) and it is the sum of all the ecosystems.

The biosphere is unique. So far there has been no existence of life elsewhere in the universe. Life on Earth depends on the sun. Energy, provided as sun light, is captured by plants, some bacteria and protists, in the marvellous phenomenon of photosynthesis. The captured energy transforms carbon dioxide into organic compounds such as sugars and produces oxygen. The vast majority of species of animals, fungi, parasitic plants and many bacteria depend directly or indirectly on photosynthesis.

18:90 SAHIH INTERNATIONAL Until, when he came to the rising of the sun, he found it rising on a people for whom We had not made against it any shield.

The story of Dhul Qarneyn states that Alexander travelled to the setting and rising of the sun. But he met people with no protection from the sun, this seems to be a condradiction stating the sky protects people. Even if you were to assume that they had no sky. They would of been killed without a sky or an atmosphere from the sun. Please note the protection doesnt have to be sky. It could also be trees, mountains and etc for those assuming this is one miracle of the quran that the sky protects against the sun. However the sky does offer some protection from it. But the verse doesnt speak about the sky so it seems the author had no idea that the sky offered some protection.

From Ibn Kathir: (for whom We (Allah) had provided no shelter against the sun.) meaning, they had no buildings or trees to cover them and shade them from the heat of the sun. Qatadah said, "It was mentioned to us that they were in a land where nothing grew, so when the sun rose they would go into tunnels until it had passed its zenith, then they would come out to go about their daily lives and earn themselves a living.

Even if u were to assume they were hiding from the sun. They would still die because they dont have an atmoshere to live in.Because the sky offers some other help. Like life to exist and breathe

Earth's atmosphere is 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, 0.9% argon, and 0.03% carbon dioxide with very small percentages of other elements. Our atmosphere also contains water vapor. In addition, Earth's atmosphere contains traces of dust particles, pollen, plant grains and other solid particles.

Conclusion

Seems like the author forgot to mention what the sky does. Seems he took a guess of some sort by mixing an arabian and egyption culture. Stating the heaven protect the earth from something and mixes it with sky in order to give a puropse to the sky. But seems not to know that life needs a sky in order to live.
