WikiIslam:Sandbox/WikiIslam:Setting up a new WikiIslam subdomain

These are the steps for setting up a new WikiIslam subdomain.

1. Setup the subdomain URL, databases, files, cache directories. Follow the same subdomain shortform that Wikipedia uses (for example bg for Bulgarian)
2. Modify the logo from the original PSD file (needs a translation of the site's name and the tag line)
3. Translate interface messages in "extensions/EditMonitor/EditMonitor.i18n.php" and "extensions/RecentChangesCleanup/RecentChangesCleanup.i18n.php". Upload the modified files.
4. Create any number of temporary pages that will be helpful for you in creating and setting up the site
5. Create Administrator accounts at the new site and give them rights (Editor, Reviewer and em-bypass-2. Use em-bypass-1 for new users that join the site later)
6. Create a page for Administrators (such as WikiIslam:Administrators) that has relevant information and links to frequently edited files or content for Administrative use. You can include shortcuts to the links mentioned on this page.
7. Edit these pages for the subdomain: MediaWiki:Sidebar, MediaWiki:Rclinks
8. Start moving content into the subdomain
9. Update links on translated articles on other language domains
10. After the site is ready, link the site on MediaWiki:Sidebar for other subdomains. Also edit WikiIslam to link the new site.
