In the section on false chains, I thought about diagrams. The people would be represented by dots and it would go from hadith collector to Muhammad. Fro example, the hadith collector a black dot and then a tree of false chains (maybe red dots) from him (=he made it all up). Or hadith collector and a few dots of liars (connected by lines indicating collaboration) and a tree a of false chains from the liars going to the prophet etc. I don't have experience making diagrams.
