Sahabah
The Ṣaḥābah (الصحابة Companions) were the companions of Muhammad. To be still considered a Sahabah today, the individual must have seen Muhammad, believed in his prophethood and died as a believer.[1] So this would exclude Ubayd-Allah ibn Jahsh (brother of Zainab bint Jash, the cousin and wife of Muhammad), who was a Sahabah but later converted to Christianity.[2] Those that saw Muhammad but held off believing in him until after his death are not considered Sahabah but Tabi'un.[1] According to Muhammad, the Sahabah are among the best generation of Muslims on Earth, along with the Tabi‘un and the Tabi' al-Tabi'un.
