You can ask your Muslims friends how Islam can be reformed in this case without rejecting {{Quran|5|38}} and saying that the verse is correct ("it was correct for those times" is an invalid argument as Islam is described as a way of life for ''eternity''). These terrorists are simply carrying out the orders given to them in the Quran.
