Sex and sexuality are subject to many restrictions in the Islamic tradition, however unlike the Christian tradition which encourages celibacy as an ideal for women but especially for men, the Islamic tradition is very supportive of sexuality within the correct context. Men are allowed up to four wives, who may not turn down the sexual advances of their man. In addition, Muslims mujaahids are allowed to keep women captured as slaves as war booty, and sexual intercourse is permitted with them, as is coitus interuptus with the intention of keeping slave girls from becoming pregnant. Sex will also be present in paradise, in contradiction to the gospels where Jesus says that the believers will be sexless like the angels in heaven (Gospel of Matthew 22:30), where the believers will enjoy the hour al-'ayn, the forever-virgin sex nymphs of paradise, for all eternity. Muhammad is attributed with the sexual powers of many men, and his sexuality is seen as a sign of his manliness and prophethood. Sex, even lawful sex, is still ritually unclean thogh, and the believers are required to engage in ritual cleansing before they are allowed to pray or read the Qur'an.
