Hi,
So there is this bit that talks about whether the Dhul Qarnayn narrative was actually revealed in Medina:
> According to the traditional Muslim narrative, Al-Kahf (The Cave) was generally revealed in Mecca, except verse 28 and verses 83-101 which were revealed in Medina
I tracked down the reference, which itself references Abd al Kafi's عدد سور القرآن وآياته وكلماته وحروفه وتلخيص مكية ومدنية (PDF version here https://cdn.quranpedia.net/attachments/documents/BOOK_25431_1.pdf). Surat al Kahf can be found starting in page 292. It does list the opinion that verses 28 and 83-101 are Medinan, but it also says that it has a daeef narration and that the majority view is that the whole chapter is Meccan. So I don't think categorizing that opinion as "the traditional Muslim narrative" is particularly accurate.
What do you guys think?
