Introduction

Please take time to read through every single word and sentence. You may find some precious information that you were previously unaware of, or just might have overlooked. What one person can do alone is very limited, but together we can help eradicate this great evil called Islam. It may not happen within our lifetimes but if we persevere, it will happen. Please help spread the information contained within this document to as many people as possible. the whole world needs to know the truths about Islam. People need to stop being deceived. Muhammad has done great damage to the whole world through the evil cult he founded, and he has greatly sinned against God by falsely calling himself a prophet - thereby deceiving so many people with his false and perverted teachings. God will not forgive such a person.

Since the beginning of history, books have always been an essential tool for all humans. When writing books about the truth of Islam, we should list as many mistakes, contradictions and absurdities from the Arabic texts as possible (with their transliterations of course). Nothing hurts Islam more than the complete destruction of Muhammad, the Quran and the ahadith. We should discuss all the negative aspects and repercussions of Islam. In our contemporary society we have many recent examples: the London bombings, the Madrid bombings, the Bali Bombings (twice!), the Southern Thailand bombings, the Iraq bombings, 9/11, terrorists found in Mecca, Muslim-Christian conflicts in Indonesia and the Philippines, etc.

Through books, the Internet, VCD's and DVD's, we can spread the negative truths about Islam to the whole world and eventually put and end to Muhammad's cult once and for all. This will ensure that we can build a better world with a better tomorrow for all of us and for our children. Thank you all and may God bless all of you.

The Quran

Quran translations

Never fully trust any one English or other non-Arabic translation of the Quran. Muslim apologists are fond of taking advantage of non-Arabs' ignorance of the Arabic language to fool people. So it is a good idea to refer not just to one, but to many various translations of the Quran. Then you can compare for yourself. In the Arabic text, many verses of the Quran are very harsh, very illogical, very bloodthirsty and scientifically erroneous. Therefore, trust the translations which are more harsh, more illogical, more bloodthirsty and unscientific, because these are the more honest translations.

For those who do not know Arabic, it does help to get a transliteration of the Quran with parallel Arabic text. Never trust what Muslims tell you about the Quran unless you yourself know Arabic very well. If you want to get an English translation of the Quran, get Majid Fakhry's translation with the parallel Arabic text. It is the only really reliable, honest English translation of the Quran. A brief history of the Quran

The Quran is a very badly organized and badly written book. It has no proper beginning, no proper sequence and no proper ending. The very first verse and sentence of the Quran is in Surah 96! Add to that that there are countless repetitions and many verses and sentences that have no meaning at all. If the author of the Quran is a human being, he will most surely get an "F" in book writing. To ascribe such a lousy man-made book to God is an absolute insult and abomination to God!

The Quran did not exist during Muhammad's lifetime. The Quran only came into existence after Muhammad's death. In the year 633 A.D, when Muhammad unexpectedly and suddenly died, what we know of today as the Quran, was in many scattered bits and pieces - written on pieces of cloth, leather, bones and stones; and some parts of it, in various people's memories. Later on, because Muhammad's followers were continuously at war with non-Muslims and many of the people who memorized parts of Muhammad's revelations were constantly being killed, Muhammad's 'revelations' had to be collected to prevent them from being lost forever. Caliph Abu Bakr ordered Zaid to start collecting them together in one place. However, the Quran itself was not compiled and completed by Abu Bakr or Zaid, but by Caliph Uthman bin Affan.

It was Caliph Uthman bin Affan who finally produced the Quran. After he completed this task he made copies of his creation and sent them to various parts of the Muhammadan empire. Of course all deviating copies (from his 'official' version were destroyed). Therefore Uthman is responsible for the Quran that we have today - all 114 Surah's of it. He did an awful job in his compilation and organization of the Quran, considering that the Quran has no proper sequence at all, no proper beginning, no proper ending and is so confusing. The Quran that we have today is simply organized (roughly) from longest Surah to the shortest Surah. The Quran should be correctly called the "Uthman Quran."

In addition, the early copies of the Quran were NOT written in the Arabic script that we know today, but in the Kufic script. It was only after a few centuries, and many many re-writes that the Arabic script that we know today came into existence. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]

Is the Quran an extraordinary book?

Let's consider some reasons why the Quran really isn't anything special. there are about 80,000 words in the Quran, but the total number of unique words is only around 2,000 If a reader decides to learn only 10 new words every day, he can understand the basic message of the Quran within a period of 7 months. So it is indeed very easy to understand the Quran, provided one is willing to learn it. The Quran is actually a very short book; and considering that it had to take Muhammad 23 long years, plus many more years by his Caliphs, in order to finally produce such a short book, it does not reflect very well on Muhammad or his Caliphs.

In fact, if you were to write just 22 short sentences a day, each sentence only 10 words long, which in total would make up less than one page, you can finish writing the whole Quran in less than one year! Also, if an average author writes 200 short sentences a day, which is about 7 pages a day, he can finish writing the entire Quran in just 40 days! The fact that it took at least 30 years - or more than that - for Muhammad and his Caliphs just goes to show that they were very poor authors and editors indeed!

Compared to the Bible, the Quran is an extremely short book. The Quran is just one book, whereas the Bible is 66 books. If compared word for word, especially in the original Hebrew, Greek and Arabic, the Quran is equivalent to the size of the Book of Psalms in the Bible! The Bible in contrast, contains 593,493 words in the Old Testament, plus 181,253 words in the New Testament. This adds up to a total of 774,746 words.

Despite being such a short book, the Quran is very badly organized. There is no proper chronology, no proper structuring, no head or tail - it's all very confusing. Each chapter contains no specific message or story and no specific teaching - it's a jumble. Worse still, are the pointless, endless repetitions! such a jumbled up piece of garbage cannot qualify as the work of a decent human author, let alone God. to ascribe such a mess to God is a total insult and blasphemy - a degradation to God.

Arabic Analysis

Smite their necks! (Quran 47:4)

فاذا لقيتم الذين كفروا فضرب الرقاب حتى اذا اثخنتموهم فشدوا الوثاق فاما منا بعد واما فداء حتى تضع الحرب اوزارها ذلك ولو يشاء الله لانتصر منهم ولكن ليبلو بعضكم ببعض والذين قتلوا في سبيل الله فلن يضل اعمالهم

Transliteration: Fa'idhā Laqītumu Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Fađarba Ar-Riqābi Ĥattaá 'Idhā 'Athkhantumūhum Fashuddū Al-Wathāqa Fa'immā Mannāan Ba`du Wa 'Immā Fidā'an Ĥattaá Tađa`a Al-Ĥarbu 'Awzārahā Dhālika Wa Law Yashā'u Allāhu Lāntaşara Minhum Wa Lakin Liyabluwa Ba`đakum Biba`đin Wa Al-Ladhīna Qutilū Fī Sabīli Allāhi Falan Yuđilla 'A`mālahum

Literal: Therefore, when you meet the unbelievers, smite them at their necks ; At length, when ye have thoroughly subdued them, bind a bond firmly (on them): thereafter (is the time for) either generosity or ransom: Until the war lays down its burdens. Thus (are ye commanded): but if it had been Allah's Will, He could certainly have exacted retribution from them (Himself); but (He lets you fight) in order to test you, some with others. But those who are slain in the Way of Allah,- He will never let their deeds be lost.

Many translators have tried to soften the meaning of their translations, by adding the words "in war" in brackets after the word "unbelievers", but they are not in the original Arabic text. With verses like these in the Quran, can you blame the existence of organizations like Al-Qaida, Jemmah Islamiyah, Hamas militants, the Taliban, Suicide bombers, etc. on culture?

Lamusiun (Quran 51:47)

والسماء بنيناها بايد وانا لموسعون

Transliteration: Waalssamaa banaynaha bi-aydin wa-inna lamoosiAAoona

Yusuf Ali: With power and skill did We construct the Firmament: for it is We Who create the vastness of pace.

With regards to this specific verse, you should only trust the translations of:

  • Abdullah Yusuf Ali
  • Maulana Muhammad Ali
  • Ahmed Ali.

The word 'lamusiun' does not mean "we are expanding it' - it is only a word of phrase that Allah supposedly used to describe the vastness and greatness of his power. You can easily check this by referring to any English-Arabic dictionary; there is not a single entry for 'expand' under 'lamusiun.' There are many Arabic words for "expand", but 'lamusiun' is not one of them, because 'lamusiun' does not mean "expand" - neither does it mean "We are expanding it." It is true that it can be interpreted to indirectly mean so, but this is not its actual meaning. In this case, like many others, the translators have been disingenuous in their translations, as they wish to find 'scientific' statements in their book. Dahaha (Quran 79:30)

والارض بعد ذلك دحاها

Transliteration: Waal-arda baAAda thalika dahaha

Literal: And the earth/Planet Earth after that He blew and stretched/spread it.

Yusuf Ali: And the earth, moreover, hath He extended (to a wide expanse); [6]

Contrary to the claims of Islamic apologists, dahaha does not mean 'shape like an egg.' The Arabic word for egg is 'Baidah' and not duhiya. The word duhiya is a word that comes from the non-Arab tribes of North Africa. It is definitely not an Arabic word and not a word that comes from the Arabian Peninsula or Muhammad's tribe. Dahaha actually means "flatten" and the concise meaning is: "spread out like a carpet and flattened.' This shows us another scientific error in the Quran. If this verse had wanted to talk about the Earth being shaped like an egg, it would have used a word like "baidahwiyah."

"dahaha" is the synonym of the word "sawwaahaa" (straighten) or "basatahaa" (flatten). The Quran is clearly saying that Allah's Earth is flat; not an oblate spheroid, not a sphere and not an 'egg shape.' There are many verses in the Quran that attest to this - therefore Allah's Earth is flat

Yudhillu & Yatruku

There are many verses in the Quran that use the Arabic word 'Yudhillu' (for example: Quran 4:88, Quran 4:143, Quran 6:39, Quran 6:125, Quran 7:178, Quran 7:186, Quran 14:4, Quran 16:37, Quran 16:93, Quran 17:97, Quran 35:8, Quran 39:23, etc.) "Yudhillu' means "lead astray". Whenever we see the Quran use this word, it is talking about Allah himself leading people astray! Some Muslim translators try to take advantage of non-Arabs' ignorance of Arabic, and dishonestly translate the verses that use this word to mean something else - such as "leaving astray" or "leaving to stray" -in attempt to hide the true meaning. If the author of the Quran wanted to say "leaving astray" or "leaving to stray", it would have been a simple matter to use the word 'yatruku' - which means "ignore/leave alone." In further evidence that the Quran really means that it is Allah himself that is leading people astray, can be found in Quran 10:100:

Yusuf Ali: No soul can believe, except by the will of Allah, and He will place doubt (or obscurity) on those who will not understand. Pickthal: It is not for any soul to believe save by the permission of Allah. He hath set uncleanness upon those who have no sense.

Shakir: And it is not for a soul to believe except by Allah's permission; and He casts uncleanness on those who will not understand.

We can see that it is Allah himself who wills people to believe in him, and it is also Allah that leads people astray. Let's continue this logic: 80% of the world's population and billions of people are going to hell to get roasted for eternity because Allah himself led them astray - he did not will them into believing. This is one sadistic God If an unbiased, unprejudiced person is willing to think rationally and logically, and with his conscience, it is clear that the Quran could only have come from the deranged mind of a sick-minded conman like Muhammad.

Kull (Quran 21:33)

وهو الذي خلق الليل والنهار والشمس والقمر كل في فلك يسبحون

Transliteration: Wahuwa allathee khalaqa allayla waalnnahara waalshshamsa waalqamara kullun fee falakin yasbahoona

Literal: And He is who created the night and the daytime, and the sun and the moon, every/all in (an) orbit/circuit floating.

Yusuf Ali: And He it is Who created the night and the day and the sun and the moon. Each moves in its own orbit. [7]
  • The word 'kull' in Arabic means 'each' or 'every.'
  • 'Kullun Fee' (which is also used in Quran 36:40) means 'each in.'
  • 'Falak' means 'move.'

Some translators try to take advantage of non-Arabs' ignorance of Arabic by dishonestly translating 'kull' as 'everything' or 'all'; however these are of course, both incorrect.

The Arabic word for 'everything' is 'kullushaiyin' and the word for 'all' is 'Jami'an'. You can see that neither of these words are used in the above verse. The final nail in the coffin for the apologists regarding this verse is its context. It is clearly not talking about all things - but only the Sun and the Moon.

Qul (Say!)

The Quran is supposed to be the literal word of Allah - every single word of it. In verses where Muhammad is asked to pray something or say something, the Arabic word 'Qul' is used. 'Qul' means "Say" or "Proclaim!" However, the shocking fact of the matter is that there are many verses in the Quran where Muhammad himself is speaking of his own accord and was not told to by Allah. In the Arabic text of these verses, neither the words 'Qul' (Say/Proclaim!), nor 'solat' (pray) are contained at the start of the sentence. Many translators attempt to help Allah out with this embarrassing fact by dishonestly inserting the words "Say' or "pray" at the start into their translations. Some examples:

Quran 6:104

قد جاءكم بصائر من ربكم فمن ابصر فلنفسه ومن عمي فعليها وماانا عليكم بحفيط

Transliteration: Qad jaakum basa-iru min rabbikum faman absara falinafsihi waman AAamiya faAAalayha wama ana AAalaykum bihafeethin

Literal: Clear sightedness had come to you from your (P) Lord, so who saw/understood so to himself, and who blinded so on it, and I am not on you with a protector/observer .

Sarwar: (Muhammad), tell them, "Clear proofs have certainly come to you from your Lord. Whoever tries to understand it will gain much but those who ignore it will only harm themselves. I am not (supposed) to watch over you (all the time)".

Hilali/Khan: Verily, proofs have come to you from your Lord, so whosoever sees, will do so for (the good of) his ownself, and whosoever blinds himself, will do so to his own harm, and I (Muhammad SAW) am not a watcher over you.

HK/Saheeh: There has come to you enlightenment from your Lord. So whoever will see does so for [the benefit of] his soul, and whoever is blind [does harm] against it. And [say], "I am not a guardian over you."

Malik: Now there have come to you clear proofs from your Lord to open your eyes. Therefore, anyone who will open his eyes, it is good for his own soul and anyone who will play blind, it is to his own harm, and I am the Prophet, not assigned as a keeper over you.

QXP: (You are not expected to know His Person.) Say (O Prophet), "The manifest Enlightenment has come to you from your Lord. Whoever sees the Truth, does so for his own good. And whoever turns blind, hurts himself. I am not your keeper or guardian." [8]

Quran 6:114

افغير الله ابتغى حكما وهو الذي انزل اليكم الكتاب مفصلا والذين اتيناهم الكتاب يعلمون انه منزل من ربك بالحق فلا تكونن من الممترين

Transliteration: Afaghayra Allahi abtaghee hakaman wahuwa allathee anzala ilaykumu alkitaba mufassalan waallatheena ataynahumu alkitaba yaAAlamoona annahu munazzalun min rabbika bialhaqqi fala takoonanna mina almumtareena

Literal: So is other than God I ask/desire (as) a judge/ruler, and He is who descended to you The Book detailed/explained ? And those who We brought (gave) to them The Book , they know that it (is) descended from your Lord with the truth , so do not be (E) from the doubting/arguing.

Yusuf Ali: Say: "Shall I seek for judge other than Allah? - when He it is Who hath sent unto you the Book, explained in detail." They know full well, to whom We have given the Book, that it hath been sent down from thy Lord in truth. Never be then of those who doubt.

Sarwar: (Muhammad), say, "Should I seek any judge other than God? It is He Who has revealed this Book (Quran) to you with all its intricate details." Those to whom We have given the Bible know that the Quran has been revealed to you from your Lord in all Truth. Thus, you (people) must have no doubts about it.

Hilali/Khan: (Say (O Muhammad SAW)) "Shall I seek a judge other than Allah while it is He Who has sent down unto you the Book (The Quran), explained in detail." Those unto whom We gave the Scripture (the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)) know that it is revealed from your Lord in truth. So be not you of those who doubt.

HK/Saheeh: [Say], "Then is it other than Allah I should seek as judge while it is He who has revealed to you the Book explained in detail?" And those to whom We [previously] gave the Scripture know that it is sent down from your Lord in truth, so never be among the doubters.

Malik: Say: Should I seek a judge other than Allah, when He is the One Who has revealed this Book (The Qur'an) with full details? Those whom We gave the Book, before you, know very well that it is revealed to you from your Lord with the Truth; therefore, you should not be of those who have doubts.

QXP: Say, "Shall I seek for Judge and Ruler someone other than Allah? He it is Who has revealed this Book, well expounded in detail for you." Those whom We have given the Book know that this is revealed in Truth from your Lord. Be not among those who argue for the sake of argument.

Asad: [say thou:] "Am I, then, to look unto anyone but God for judgment" [as to what is right and wrong], when it is He who has bestowed upon you from on high this divine writ, clearly spelling out the truth?°° And those unto whom We have vouchsafed revelation aforetime know that this one, too, has been bestowed from on high, step by step, by thy Sustainer.' Be not, then, among the doubters [9]

Quran 11:2-3

وان استغفروا ربكم ثم توبوا اليه يمتعكم متاعا حسنا الى اجل مسمى ويؤت كل ذي فضل فضله وان تولوا فاني اخاف عليكم عذاب يوم كبير الا تعبدوا الا الله انني لكم منه نذير وبشير

Transliteration: Alla taAAbudoo illa Allaha innanee lakum minhu natheerun wabasheerun Waani istaghfiroo rabbakum thumma tooboo ilayhi yumattiAAkum mataAAan hasanan ila ajalin musamman wayu/ti kulla thee fadlin fadlahu wa-in tawallaw fa-inee akhafu AAalaykum AAathaba yawmin kabeerin

Literal: That you not worship except God, that I am (E) to you from Him (a) warner/giver of notice, announcer of good news. And that ask for forgiveness (from) your Lord then repent to Him, He gives you long life/makes you enjoy good/beautiful long life/enjoyment to a named/identified (specified) term/time, and He gives/brings each (owner) of grace/favour/blessing His grace/favour/blessing, and if they turned away, so that I, I fear on you a big/great day's torture.

Yusuf Ali: (It teacheth) that ye should worship none but Allah. (Say): "Verily I am (sent) unto you from Him to warn and to bring glad tidings: "(And to preach thus), 'Seek ye the forgiveness of your Lord, and turn to Him in repentance; that He may grant you enjoyment, good (and true), for a term appointed, and bestow His abounding grace on all who abound in merit! But if ye turn away, then I fear for you the penalty of a great day:

Pickthal: (Saying): Serve none but Allah. Lo! I am unto you from Him a warner and a bringer of good tidings. And (bidding you): Ask pardon of your Lord and turn to Him repentant. He will cause you to enjoy a fair estate until a time appointed. He giveth His bounty unto every bountiful one. But if ye turn away, lo! (then) I fear for you the retribution of an awful Day.

Sarwar: (It teaches), "People, do not worship anyone besides God. I, (Muhammad), am His Messenger sent to warn you and to give you the glad news. Seek forgiveness from your Lord and turn to Him in repentance for your sins. He will provide you good sustenance for an appointed time and will reward everyone according to his merits. I am afraid that you will suffer torment on the great Day (of Judgment) if you turn away (from God).

Khalifa: Proclaiming: "You shall not worship except GOD. I come to you from Him as a warner, as well as a bearer of good news. "You shall seek your Lord's forgiveness, then repent to Him. He will then bless you generously for a predetermined period, and bestow His grace upon those who deserve it. If you turn away, then I fear for you the retribution of an awesome day."

Hilali/Khan: (Saying) worship none but Allah. Verily, I (Muhammad SAW) am unto you from Him a warner and a bringer of glad tidings. And (commanding you): "Seek the forgiveness of your Lord, and turn to Him in repentance, that He may grant you good enjoyment, for a term appointed, and bestow His abounding Grace to every owner of grace (i.e. the one who helps and serves needy and deserving, physically and with his wealth.

HK/Saheeh: [Through a messenger, saying], "Do not worship except Allah. Indeed, I am to you from Him a warner and a bringer of good tidings," And [saying], Seek forgiveness of your Lord and repent to Him, [and] He will let you enjoy a good provision for a specified term and give every doer of favor his favor. But if you turn away, then indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a great Day.

QXP: It teaches that you serve none but Allah. (Say O Prophet), "I am unto you from Him a Warner and a bearer of good news. Seek your Sustainer's forgiveness, then turn towards Him in repentance. He will then grant you a goodly enjoyment of life in this world until a term appointed. He will bestow His abounding Grace on all who abound in merit. But if you turn away, then I fear for you the chastisement of a Great Day."

Asad: so that you may worship none but God. [Say, O Prophet:] "Behold, I come unto you from Him [as] a warner and a bearer of glad tidings:' Ask your Sustainer to forgive you your sins, and then turn towards Him in repentance - [whereupon] He will grant you a goodly enjoyment of life [in this world] until a term set [by Him is fulfilled];' and [in the life to come] He will bestow upon everyone possessed of merit [a full reward for] his merit.' But if you turn away, then, verily, I dread for you the suffering [which is bound to befall you] on that awesome Day ! [10]
Qur'an 11:2-3

Quran 27:91

انما امرت ان اعبد رب هذه البلدة الذي حرمها وله كل شئ وامرت ان اكون من المسلمين

Transliteration: Innama omirtu an aAAbuda rabba hathihi albaldati allathee harramaha walahu kullu shay-in waomirtu an akoona mina almuslimeena

Literal: Truly I was ordered/commanded that I worship this the country's/land's/town's Lord, which He declared it respected/sacred, and for Him (is) every thing, and I was ordered/commanded that I be from the Moslems/submitters

Pickthal: (Say): I (Muhammad) am commanded only to serve the Lord of this land which He hath hallowed, and unto Whom all things belong. And I am commanded to be of those who surrender (unto Him),

Hilali/Khan: I (Muhammad SAW) have been commanded only to worship the Lord of this city (Makkah), Him Who has sanctified it and His is everything. And I am commanded to be from among the Muslims (those who submit to Allah in Islam).

HK/Saheeh: [Say, O Muúammad], I have only been commanded to worship the Lord of this city, who made it sacred and to whom [belongs] all things. And I am commanded to be of the Muslims [those who submit to Allah]

Malik: O Muhammad, say to them: "I have been commanded to worship the Lord of this city (Mecca), the One Who has made it sacred and Who is the Owner of all things; and I am commanded to be of those who are Muslims,

QXP: Say (O Prophet), "I am commanded to serve the Lord of this town (Makkah) - Him Who has made it sacred, and unto Whom all things belong. And I am commanded to be of those who surrender to Him.

Qariballah: (Say Prophet Muhammad): 'I am only ordered to worship the Lord of this country, which He has made sacred, everything belongs to Him. And I am ordered to be of the Muslims,

JM Rodwell: SAY: Specially am I commanded to worship the Lord of this land, which He hath sanctified. All things are His: and I am commanded to be one of those who surrender them to God (a Muslim)

Asad: [SAY, O Muhammad:] "I have been bidden to worship the Sustainer of this City - [I.e., Mecca, where the first temple dedicated to the One God was built (cf. 3:96).] Him who has made it sacred, and unto whom all things belong: and I have been bidden to be of those who surrender themselves to Him, [11]

Quran 42:10

ومااختلفتم فيه من شئ فحكمه الى الله ذلكم الله ربي عليه توكلت واليه انيب

Transliteration: Wama ikhtalaftum feehi min shay-in fahukmuhu ila Allahi thalikumu Allahu rabbee AAalayhi tawakkaltu wa-ilayhi oneebu

Literal: And what you differed/disagreed/disputed in it from a thing, so its judgment/rule (is) to God, that one (is) God, my Lord, on Him I relied/depended , and to Him I return/repent/obey .

Hilali/Khan: And in whatsoever you differ, the decision thereof is with Allah (He is the ruling Judge). (And say O Muhammad SAW to these polytheists:) Such is Allah, my Lord in Whom I put my trust, and to Him I turn in all of my affairs and in repentance.

HK/Saheeh: And in anything over which you disagree its ruling is [to be referred] to Allah. [Say], "That is Allah, my Lord; upon Him I have relied, and to Him I turn back."

Malik: O Prophet, tell them: Whatever the subject of your dispute is, its Judgment belongs to Allah: Such is Allah my Lord, in Him I have put my trust, and to Him I turn in repentance,

QXP: And in whatever you humans may differ, the Decision rests with Allah. (Say), "Such is Allah, my Lord. In Him I trust and unto Him I always turn." ((42:8). Turning to Allah = Turning to His Laws in the Qur'an).

Asad: AND ON WHATEVER you may differ, [O believers,] the verdict thereon rests with God. [This, connecting with the first sentence of verse 8 above, evidently relates to problems of faith and religious law (Baghawi, Zamakhshari). The above verse has provided some of the great exponents of Islamic Law - Ibn Hazm among them - with one of the main arguments against the acceptance of deductions by analogy (qiyas) as a means to "establish" points of religious law not formulated as such in the nass - i.e., the self-evident (zahir) wording of the Quran and, by obvious implication, of the Prophet's commandments. This, as Razi points out, is the meaning of the phrase "on whatever you may differ, the verdict (hukm) thereon rests with God". (See in this connection note on 5:101; also the section on "The Scope of Islamic Law" in my State and Government, pp. 11-15.)] [Say, therefore:] "Such is God, my Sustainer: in Him have I placed my trust, and unto Him do I always turn!" Quran 51:50-51

ولاتجعلوا مع الله الها اخر اني لكم منه نذير مبين

ففروا الى الله اني لكم منه نذير مبين

Transliteration: Fafirroo ila Allahi innee lakum minhu natheerun mubeenun Wala tajAAaloo maAAa Allahi ilahan akhara innee lakum minhu natheerun mubeenun

Literal: So escape/flee to God, that I am for you from Him a clear/evident warner/giver of notice. And do not make/put with God another god, that I am for you from Him a clear/evident warner/giver of notice.

Sarwar: (Muhammad), tell them,"Seek refuge in God. I have been sent from Him to plainly warn you. Do not choose other gods besides Him. I have been sent from Him to plainly warn you".

Hilali/Khan: So flee to Allah (from His Torment to His Mercy Islamic Monotheism), verily, I (Muhammad SAW) am a plain warner to you from Him. And set not up (or worship) any other ilahan (god) along with Allah (Glorified be He (Alone), Exalted above all that they associate as partners with Him). Verily, I (Muhammad SAW) am a plain warner to you from Him.

Malik: O Prophet, say to mankind: "Rush towards Allah, surely I am assigned by Him as a plain Warner to you all. Do not set up another god besides Allah, surely I am assigned by Him as a plain Warner to you all."

QXP: (Say), "Hence, Rush unto Allah! Behold, I am a plain Warner unto you from Him." (To emphasize the urgency to do good in this unpredictable human life, the word 'say' in this verse is merged within 'Fafirru' = So, flee = Therefore, rush = Hence, go forth now). And set up no god or Authority along with Allah. Behold, I am a plain Warner unto you from Him.

Asad: And so, [O Muhammad, say unto them:] "Flee unto God [from all that is false and evil]! Verily, I am a plain warner to you from Him! nd do not ascribe divinity to aught side by side with God: [Lit., "do not set up any other deity".] verily, I am a plain warner to you from Him!" [13]

Contradictions in the Quran

The People of Aad

How many days did Allah need to destroy the people of Aad ?

Yusuf Ali: The 'Ad (people) (too) rejected (Truth): then how terrible was My Penalty and My Warning? For We sent against them a furious wind, on a day of violent Disaster,

Pickthal: (The tribe of) A'ad rejected warnings. Then how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings. Lo! We let loose on them a raging wind on a day of constant calamity,

Shakir: Ad treated (the truth) as a lie, so how (great) was My punishment and My warning! Surely We sent on them a tornado in a day of bitter ill-luck
Qur'an 54:18-19

Now we have a look at Quran 41:6:

Yusuf Ali:So We sent against them a furious Wind through days of disaster, that We might give them a taste of a Penalty of humiliation in this life; but the Penalty of a Hereafter will be more humiliating still: and they will find no help.

Pickthal: Therefore We let loose on them a raging wind in evil days, that We might make them taste the torment of disgrace in the life of the world. And verily the doom of the Hereafter will be more shameful, and they will not be helped.

Shakir: So We sent on them a furious wind in unlucky days, that We may make them taste the chastisement of abasement in this world's life; and certainly the chastisement of the hereafter is much more abasing, and they shall not be helped.

And lastly, Surah 69:6-7:

Yusuf Ali: And the 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious Wind, exceedingly violent; He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down!

Pickthal: And as for A'ad, they were destroyed by a fierce roaring wind, Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees.

Shakir: And as to Ad, they were destroyed by a roaring, violent blast. Which He made to prevail against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you might have seen the people therein prostrate as if they were the trunks of hollow palms.
Qur'an 69:6-7

This is a serious contradiction in the Quran!

  • Surah 54:19 says Allah destroyed the people of Aad with furious wind in a day.
  • Surah 41:16 says Allah destroyed the people of Aad with furious wind in days.
  • Surah 69:6-7 says Allah destroyed the people of Aad with furious wind in 8 days.

Apologists may say that Allah sent a furious wind to the people of Aad in a day and made it rage over them for 8 days. However, the problem with that is that the Quran does not say that - it would have been a simple matter for Allah to say that if that is what he meant/did.

How many days of Creation?

How many days did creation take ?

Quran 7:54, Quran 10:3, Quran 11:7 and Quran 25:59 all say that Allah created the Heavens and the Earth in 6 days. However, Quran 41:9-12 says:

Yusuf Ali: Say: Is it that ye deny Him Who created the earth in two Days? And do ye join equals with Him? He is the Lord of (all) the Worlds. He set on the (earth), mountains standing firm, high above it, and bestowed blessings on the earth, and measure therein all things to give them nourishment in due proportion, in four Days, in accordance with (the needs of) those who seek (Sustenance). Moreover He comprehended in His design the sky, and it had been (as) smoke: He said to it and to the earth: "Come ye together, willingly or unwillingly." They said: "We do come (together), in willing obedience." So He completed them as seven firmaments in two Days, and He assigned to each heaven its duty and command. And We adorned the lower heaven with lights, and (provided it) with guard. Such is the Decree of (Him) the Exalted in Might, Full of Knowledge.

Pickthal: Say (O Muhammad, unto the idolaters): Disbelieve ye verily in Him Who created the earth in two Days, and ascribe ye unto Him rivals? He (and none else) is the Lord of the Worlds. He placed therein firm hills rising above it, and blessed it and measured therein its sustenance in four Days, alike for (all) who ask; Then turned He to the heaven when it was smoke, and said unto it and unto the earth: Come both of you, willingly or loth. They said: We come, obedient. Then He ordained them seven heavens in two Days and inspired in each heaven its mandate; and We decked the nether heaven with lamps, and rendered it inviolable. That is the measuring of the Mighty, the Knower.

Shakir: Say: What! do you indeed disbelieve in Him Who created the earth in two periods, and do you set up equals with Him? That is the Lord of the Worlds. And He made in it mountains above its surface, and He blessed therein and made therein its foods, in four periods: alike for the seekers. Then He directed Himself to the heaven and it is a vapor, so He said to it and to the earth: Come both, willingly or unwillingly. They both said: We come willingly. So He ordained them seven heavens in two periods, and revealed in every heaven its affair; and We adorned the lower heaven with brilliant stars and (made it) to guard; that is the decree of the Mighty, the Knowing.
Qur'an 41:9-12

In summary so far:

  • In Surah 41:9, Allah created the Earth in 2 days.
  • Surah 41:10 goes on to say that Allah placed on the Earth firm mountains and blessed the Earth and measured the Earth’s sustenance in 4 days.
  • Surah 41:11 then says that Allah then asked the Sky ( "Samaa"*) and the Earth whether they want to come together willingly or not and they said they will come together willingly.
  • Surah 41:12 then says that Allah then made the Sky ( "Samaa"*) as 7 heavens ( "SamaaWat") and placed lamps or stars in the lower heavens to guard against every rebellious devil, in 2 days.

* (In Arabic, the word "Samaa" means "Heaven" or "Sky" ( Singular). "SamaaWat" means "Heavens" (Plural). Examples where the word “SamaaWat” which means “Heavens” (Plural) is used can be found in Quran 23:86, Quran 24:35, Quran 24:64, Quran 25:2, Quran 25:59, etc.)

So 2 + 4 + 2 = 8 According to this portion of the Quran, creation took 8 days. However, Quran 7:54, Quran 10:3, Quran 11:7 and Quran 25:59 all clearly state that Allah created the Heavens and the Earth in 6 days! Once again we see that the Quran has contradicted itself. Muslim apologists may say that the 2 days mentioned in Quran 41:9 are part of the 4 days mentioned in Quran 4:10. However, the problem with that is, again, the Quran does not say this. It is conjecture.

Order of Creation

Which was created first - the Heavens or the Earth?

هو الذي خلق لكم مافي الارض جميعا ثم استوى الى السماء فسواهن سبع سماوات وهو بكل شئ عليم

Transliteration: Huwa Al-Ladhī Khalaqa Lakum Mā Fī Al-'Arđi Jamī`āan Thumma Astawá 'Ilá As-SAMAA'i Fasawwāhunna Sab`a SAMAAWATin Wa Huwa Bikulli Shay'in `Alīmun

Literal: He it is Who created for you all that is in the Earth. Then He turned towards the Sky and made them seven heavens and He is the All-Knower of everything.

Surah 79:27-30 says:

والارض بعد ذلك دحاها واغطش ليلها واخرج ضحاها

رفع سمكها فسواها ءانتم اشد خلقا ام السماء بناها

Transliteration: 'A'antum 'Ashaddu Khalqāan 'Ami As-SAMAA'u Banāhā Rafa`a Samkahā Fasawwāhā, Wa 'Aghţasha Laylahā Wa 'Akhraja Đuĥāhā, Wa Al-Arda bada Zalika DaHaaHaa

Literal: Are you more difficult to create, or is the Sky that He constructed? He raised its height, and He has equally ordered it. Its night He covers with darkness, and its forenoon He brings out (with light). And the Earth after that He(Allah) Spread out like a carpet and Flattened it.
Qur'an 79:27-30

Surah 2:29 clearly says Allah created all that is in the Earth , then he turned to the Sky and made them 7 heavens. Clearly in 2:29 (which is also supported by Quran 41:9 - 12), that Allah created the Earth and all that is in the Earth first and then he turned to the sky (ie. after that) and made it into 7 heavens. However, the above verses clearly state that Allah created the "Samaa" (Sky or Heaven) and raised it height, and equally ordered it. After that, he spread out like a carpet and flattened the Earth. There is a clear-cut contradiction between Surah 2:29 & Surah 41:9-12 on one hand and Surah 79:27-30 on the other hand.

Muslim apologists are going to have a very hard time trying to explain such mistakes and contradictions. First of all, the Earth was not created before the rest of the Universe, and secondly, Surah 2:29 & Surah 41:9-12 clearly say that Earth was created first, then the heavens, but Surah 79:27-30 clearly say that the heavens were created first then the Earth.

Ripped apart or Called together?

Heaven and Earth ripped apart or called together? Quran 21:30 says that the SamaaWat(Heavens) and the Earth were "ratqaan" ("sewn together") but Allah parted them. Quran 41:11 however says that Allah made the "Samaa" ("Sky"), which he later made into 7 heavens ("SamaaWat" and the Earth come together.

Scientific errors in the Quran

There are many scientific mistakes in the Quran. 10 of the most obvious ones will be briefly discussed below. Since Muslim apologists are so fond of taking the Quran's verses literally whenever they come across a verse that appears to support science, it is only fair that we should look literally at what the Quran says.

It is interesting to note that all these 'so-called' scientific verses in the Quran - all the scientific words always have conflicting meanings and sometimes controversial ones. When understood in the primitive and erroneous way that Muhammad understood - and meant them to be interpreted, there is no problem at all with the words and language used - the verses are clear. The truth is that there are no scientific verses in the Quran at all.

How Man is Created (Quran 86:5-7)

Falyanžur Al-'Insānu Mimma Khuliqa Khuliqa Min MAA'in Dāfiqin Yakhruju Min Bayni Aş-Şulbi Wa At-Tarā'ibi

Now let man but think from what he is created He is created from fluid gushing out Coming/Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs.
Qur'an 86:5-7
  • Yakhruju = Coming/Proceeding
  • Min = from
  • Bayni Between
  • As = the
  • Sulbi = backbone/spine
  • Wa = and
  • At = the
  • Taraibi = ribs

Wait 'what? According to the Quran, man (not woman lol) is created from a 'gushing fluid' that comes from between the backbone and the ribs? This is clearly a huge scientific error. The Quran can only be referring to either of 2 things when it refers to 'gushing fluid' in reference to the creation of humans:

  1. The semen that gushes out of a man’s penis during ejaculation
  2. The amniotic fluid that gushes out of a woman's womb during delivery of a child.

If it is referring to semen then the Quran is wrong as Semen/sperm does not come from between the backbone and/or the ribs. If the Quran is referring to amniotic fluid then it is again wrong, as "man" is not created from this - in fact the amniotic fluid would only be in evidence after the birth of a child, so it is unreasonable even for Muhammad to think that this is how "man" is created. What did he think the purpose of a male was when creating babies? In whichever case, it is truly pitiful for Muslims to expect us to accept that god would reveal something so absurd (and false!).

Unfortunately for Islam, the Quran proves that the 'fluid' being referenced in this verse, is in fact semen. Moving on to Surah 32:7-8:

Al-Ladhī 'Aĥsana Kulla Shay'in Khalaqahu Wa Bada'a Khalqa Al-'Insāni Min Ţīnin Thumma Ja`ala Naslahu Min Sulālatin Min MAA'in Mahīnin

Who made everything He has created good, and He began the creation of man from clay, Then He made his offspring from semen of worthless water (male sexual discharge).
Qur'an 32:7-8

Next, Quran 77:20:

Alam Nakhluqkum Min MAA’in Mahīnin

Have We not created you from a fluid (held) despicable?

In all the quoted verses so far, the word "maa", which means 'fluid" or "water" is used. They all clearly refer to the same thing. And if the Quran is talking about the water that SLIGHTLY gushes out of a woman’s womb during delivery, then it is even MORE WRONG. Before and during and after pregnancy, the woman’s womb is NOT AT ALL between the backbone and the ribs. Also, as we know from medical science, babies are created when the sperm joins with the egg. It then becomes a cell and starts developing from there. Babies are NOT created from the water that SLIGHTLY gushes out of a woman’s womb during delivery. What is between the backbone and the ribs ? It is the lungs, the heart and the kidneys. So is man created from fluid coming from either the lungs or the heart or the kidneys, and then gushing out of the body? NO!

The shape of the Earth (Quran 79:30)

Wa Al-Arda bada Zalika DaHaaHaa

And the Earth after that He(Allah) FLATTENED it.

The word 'dahaha' does not mean "shaped like an egg." It is appalling that some dishonest Muslim apologists actually have the audacity to cheat the non-Arabic speakers to such an extent. The Arabic word for 'egg' is 'baidah' and not 'duhiyah'. The word 'dahaha' actualy means "flatten". The concise meaning of 'dahaha' is 'spread out like a carpet and flattened.' To give a verbose, and accurate translation of 79:30 it would look something like this:

And the Earth after that He (Allah) Spread out like a carpet and Flattened it.

If Allah had meant to say that the Earth was shaped 'like an egg' he could have simply done so, by using the word 'baidahwiyah'. If Surah 79:30 HAD wanted to talk about the earth being shaped like an egg, it would have used a word like " Baidahwiyah ". But " Dahaahaa " means " FLATTEN ". “ Dahaahaa “ is a synonym of the word “ SAWWAAHAA ( STRAIGHTEN ) “ OR “ BASATAHAA ( FLATTEN ) “.

The Moon is a light? (Quran 10:5)

Huwa Al-Ladhī Ja`ala Ash-Shamsa Điyā'an Wa Al-Qamara NURon Wa Qaddarahu Manāzila Lita`lamū `Adada As-Sinīna Wa Al-Ĥisāba Mā Khalaqa Allāhu Dhālika 'Illā Bil-Ĥaqqi Yufaşşilu Al-'Āyāti Liqawmin Ya`lamūna

It is He Who made the sun to be a shining brightness and the moon to be a light, and measured out stages for her; that you might know the number of years and the count (of time). Nowise did Allah create this but in truth. (Thus) doth He explain His Signs in detail, for those who understand.

The Arabic words mean:

  • 'Qamara' = 'moon'
  • 'nur' means 'light'
  • 'Al-Qamara' = The Moon

Therefore, we clearly have Allah saying in this verse, that he made the moon a light (ie. it emits its own light). "Nur" (light) does not mean "reflected light" as some apologists claim - but this deception is only apparent to those who know Arabic. If we were to humour the apologists with this claim, we could ask them if they are right,then according to Quran 24:35, is Allah (himself) a 'reflected light'? Would any apologist accept such a degrading insult to their god, simply to hold on to their apologetic position? Furthermore, there are many verses that would make no sense if nur means 'reflected light' as these apologists claim (verses such as: Quran 2:257, Quran 4:174, Quran 5:16, Quran 5:46, Quran 6:1, Quran 6:122, Quran 7:157, Quran 9:32, Quran 33:43, Quran 33:46, Quran 35:25, Quran 42:52, Quran 57:9, Quran 61:8, Quran 64:8, etc.).

Apologetics aside, the fact that the Quran claims that the Moon is a light is clearly wrong. The moon does not give out its own light, but reflects light given off by the sun. Of course the Quran is not correct on this, because such knowledge was not advanced at the time due to technological inferiority.

The Sun sets in a Muddy Spring? (Quran 18:86)

Till, when he reached the setting-place of the SUN, he found it setting in a muddy spring, and found a people thereabout. We said: O Dhu'l-Qarneyn! Either punish or show them kindness.

Yes, you read it correctly. This verse clearly says that the sun sets in a muddy spring! Allah himself says that Dhu'l Qarnayn reached the setting place of the Sun and Allah himself says that he found the sun setting in a muddy spring!. What kind of stupidity is this? The all-knowing god - the creator of ALL claims that the Sun sets in a spring? Even we mere mortals know this is SOOOOOOOOOO wrong!

Yes. Surah 18:86 CLEARLY says that the Sun SETS IN A MUDDY SPRING !

Allah HIMSELF says that Dhu'l-Qarneyn reached the SETTING PLACE of the Sun and Allah HIMSELF says that Dhu'l-Qarneyn found the Sun SETTING IN A MUDDY SPRING !

The 7 Heavens

When reading the Quran with an open-mind we can find yet another error. The Quran makes clear that in Islam's universe there are 7 Heavens and 7 Earths. The Stars that are in the "lower heaven" are used by Allah as missiles to launch at the Jinn who are trying to climb up into heaven to eavesdrop on the Quran. On the "Night of Power" (Layla tul qadr), Muhammad allegedly rode the winged horse, Buraq from the Ka'ba in Mecca to Masjid al Aqsa - which is the mosque in Jerusalem - but this mosque was not actually constructed until 53 years after Muhammad's death. Apologists may claim that Muhammad only travelled to the place in Jerusalem where the mosque now stands, but Quran 17:1 is clearly talking about the mosque itself and not the site. After Muhammad got to the mosque, he entered and led prayers. After a drink,he then ascended through the 7 heavens on a ladder that was held by 144,000,000 (144 million) angels. When he got to Heaven (where Allah is) he met the various prophets and eventually Allah himself (one wonders why Muhammad never mentioned anything at all about the Moon, the planet Venus, Mars, Jupiter, the asteroids, the solar system, the milky way galaxy etc - however when we think critically it is obvious - it as a dream that Muhammad had and not reality and this is why Muhammad missed so many crucial details and included many fallacies.) The one thing we can learn from Muhammad's "miraj" is that we find out exactly what the Quran is referring to when it talks about the '7 Heavens' as it is clearly illustrated in the story.

The '7 Earths' mentioned are actually referring to the '7 hells' that are supposedly directly below the crust of this planet. While this was the common understanding in 7th century Arabia, it is absurd to think that the supreme creator of this universe and everything in it, would parrot the same thing! In our day and age, we know exactly what our planet is made of, and what is 'inside' it - and it is not hell - not even 1, let alone 7! In summary (according to the Quran):

  • There are 7 Heavens directly above the Earth - these are above one another (like layers).
  • There are 7 Hells directly underneath the Earth.
  • Stars are in the lower heavens and their purpose is as missiles to prevent Jinns from eavesdropping on the day-to-day activities of Heaven.

All of the above absurdities correspond only with a flat earth and not a round one (or an oblate spheroid like our planet).

The Moon overtaking the Sun? (Quran 36:40)

Lā Ash-Shamsu Yanbaghī Lahā 'An Tudrika Al-Qamara Wa Lā Al-Laylu Sābiqu An-Nahāri Wa Kullun Fee Falakin Yasbaĥoona

Yusuf Ali: It is not permitted to the Sun to catch up the Moon, nor can the Night outstrip the Day: Each (just) swims along in (its own) orbit (according to Law).

Pickthal: It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor doth the night outstrip the day. They float each in an orbit.

Shakir: Neither is it allowable to the sun that it should overtake the moon, nor can the night outstrip the day; and all float on in a sphere.

The bolded word above (Tudrika) means "catch up/overtake"

But that doesn't really make sense does it? How can the Sun 'overtake' the Moon? how can the Sun even 'catch up' to the Moon? Let's put this into perspective:

  • The Sun and the Moon are more than 149,000,000 (149 million) kilometres away from each other.
  • The Sun and the Earth are also more than 149,000,000 (149 million) kilometres away from each other.
  • The Moon and the Earth are only 384,000 kilometres away from each other, which is less than 0.3% of the distance between the Sun and the Earth or the Sun and the Moon.
  • The Sun orbits the Milky Way Galaxy.
  • The Earth orbits around the Sun. The moon in turn, orbits around the Earth.

The Sun and Moon are never close to each other at all at any point in time and their paths and movements are completely separate and different. To say that it is not permitted for the Sun to overtake or catch up with the Moon is in complete error and also absurd! No deity, who created all, would make such a stupid statement! If, of course, Muhammad himself made up the Quran, then it makes perfect sense for a book in 7th Century Arabia to contain such a statement, as this was their current understanding.

The latter part of 36:40 states: "kullun fee falakin yasbahoona" which means "each moves in its own orbit."

  • "kull" = "each" / "every"
  • 'kullun Fee" = "each in"
  • "Falak" = "move"

Some translators try to take advantage of the non-Arabs' ignorance of the Arabic language by disingenuously translating "kull" as "everything" or "all" which is not correct.

The Moon gets dry/shrivelled? (Quran 36:39)

Yusuf Ali: And the Moon, We have measured for her mansions (to traverse) till she returns like the old (and withered) lower part of a date-stalk. Pickthal: And for the moon We have appointed mansions till she return like an old shrivelled palm-leaf.

Shakir: And (as for) the moon, We have ordained for it stages till it becomes again as an old dry palm branch.

What kind of superstitious nonsense is this? The Earth orbits around the Earth - and both the Earth and the Moon orbit around the Sun! The sun therefore, gives light to both the Earth and the Moon.

  • Does the moon 'traverse till she returns like an old and withered lowered part of a date stalk'? No!
  • Does the Moon return like an old shrivelled palm leaf? No!
  • Does the Moon become an old dry palm branch? No!

The Moon, as with the Earth, receive a constant stream of sunlight.

Shattering of the Sky - SaamaWat & Saama

Another scientific error in the Quran is that it states that the sky will be "broken" or "shattered" during doomsday. In Arabic, the word "Samaa" means "heaven" or "sky" (singular). Literally though, "Samaa" means "sky" and "SamaaWat" means "Heavens" (Plural). Whenever the Quran talks about "the sky and beyond", it always specifically uses the plural word "SamaaWat" (Examples of Samaawat being used to mean "Heavens" (Plural) include: Quran 2:107, Quran 2:116, Quran 2:117, Quran 3:29, Quran 3:83, Quran 3:109, Quran 3:129, Quran 3:189, Quran 3:190, Quran 4:126, Quran 4:131, Quran 4:132, Quran 5:40, Quran 5:120, Quran 6:1, Quran 6:3, Quran 6:12, Quran 7:54, Quran 17:44, Quran 23:86, Quran 24:35, Quran 24:64, Quran 25:2, Quran 25:59, etc.)

Again, whenever the Quran talks about the 'sky and beyond', it always uses the plural word "SamaaWat" and not the singular word "Samaa." The Quran always says "Sab'a SamaaWat" or "SamaaWat As-Sab'a" (meaning "7 Heavens.") It never says: "Sab'a Samaa" or "Samaa As-Sab'a." Examples include: Quran 17:44, Quran 23:86, Quran 41:12, Quran 65:12, Quran 67:3, Quran 71:15, etc. This shows that when the Quran talks about the "Samaa" instead of "SamaaWat", it is specifically talking only about the Sky.

In the following verses, the singular word "Samaa" - which refers only to one thing (in this case, the sky), is used;

Wayawma tashaqqaqu alssamao bialghamami wanuzzila almala-ikatu tanzeelan [14]

Yusuf Ali: The Day the heaven shall be rent asunder with clouds, and angels shall be sent down, descending (in ranks),-

Pickthal: A day when the heaven with the clouds will be rent asunder and the angels will be sent down, a grand descent.

Shakir: And on the day when the heaven shall burst asunder with the clouds, and the angels shall be sent down descending (in ranks).

Fa-itha inshaqqati alssamao fakanat wardatan kaalddihani [15]

Yusuf Ali: When the sky is rent asunder, and it becomes red like ointment:

Pickthal: And when the heaven splitteth asunder and becometh rosy like red hide -

Shakir: And when the heaven is rent asunder, and then becomes red like red hide.

Wainshaqqati alssamao fahiya yawma-ithin wahiyatun [16]

Yusuf Ali: And the sky will be rent asunder, for it will that Day be flimsy,

Pickthal: And the heaven will split asunder, for that day it will be frail.

Shakir: And the heaven shall cleave asunder, so that on that day it shall be frail,

Alssamao munfatirun bihi kana waAAduhu mafAAoolan [17]

Yusuf Ali: Whereon the sky will be cleft asunder? His Promise needs must be accomplished.

Pickthal: The very heaven being then rent asunder. His promise is to be fulfilled.

Shakir: The heaven shall rend asunder thereby; His promise is ever brought to fulfillment.

Wa-itha alssamao furijat [18]

Yusuf Ali: When the heaven is cleft asunder;

Pickthal: And when the sky is riven asunder,

Shakir: And when the heaven is rent asunder,

Itha alssamao infatarat [19]

Yusuf Ali: When the Sky is cleft asunder;

Pickthal: When the heaven is cleft asunder,

Shakir: When the heaven becomes cleft asunder,

Itha alssamao inshaqqat [20]

Yusuf Ali: When the sky is rent asunder,

Pickthal: When the heaven is split asunder

Shakir: When the heaven bursts asunder,

As we all know the sky is nothing but air. In order for something to be 'cleft asunder' or 'broken apart' then it must be solid. Since the sky is not solid, the Quran claiming this is going to happen is absurd. During Muhammad's time, the people in his part of the world believed that the world (or Earth) was a big flat thing, and that directly above the Earth there are 7 heavens - directly below these 7 heavens was a big tent-like dome that covered the Earth. They also believed that the Sun revolved around the Earth (geocentricity) - that the Earth was fixed and unmovable. This is why you will never find a single verse in the Quran with the words "arda" (Earth) and "Falak" (Move) together.

The only way the above quoted verses can be properly understood is to apply the 7th century Arabian understanding of our world and our universe.

The Moon follows the Sun (Quran 91:1-2)

Waalshshamsi waduhaha Waalqamari itha talaha [21]

Yusuf Ali: By the Sun and his (glorious) splendour; By the Moon as she follows him;

Pickthal: By the sun and his brightness, And the moon when she FOLLOWS him,

Shakir: I swear by the sun and its brilliance, And the moon when it FOLLOWS the sun
Qur'an 91:1-2
  • Wa = And
  • Al = the
  • Qamari = Moon
  • Idha = when
  • Talaahaa = it follows it

Talaahaa as used in this verse, literally means that the Moon is following the Sun. No one who speaks Arabic would dare to dispute this. Muhammad couldn't even make an oath without making a scientific blunder!

  • The Sun and the Moon are more than 149,000,000 (149 million) kilometres away from each other.
  • The Sun and the Earth are also more than 149,000,000 (149 million) kilometres away from each other.
  • The Moon and the Earth are only 384,000 kilometres away from each other, which is less than 0.3% of the distance between the Sun and the Earth or the Sun and the Moon.
  • The Sun orbits the Milky Way Galaxy.
  • The Earth orbits around the Sun. The moon in turn, orbits around the Earth.
  • The Sun and Moon are never close to each other at all at any point in time and their paths and movements are completely separate and different.
  • The Moon is attracted by the gravitational pull of the Earth.

It would be accurate to say that the Moon 'follows' the Earth, but not that the Moon follows the Sun. Strictly speaking in astronomy terms, the Earth revolves around the Sun ('follows' the Sun) and the Moon in turn, 'follows' the Earth. It is not surprising that you cannot find a single verse in the Quran that states that the Moon 'follows' the Earth, nor can you find a single verse that states that the Earth follows the Sun (as the Quran is a geocentric book). But why not? It is because the 7th Century Arabs were not aware of the movement of the planets and other celestial bodies.

The Stars will fall & break? (Quran 81:1-2)

Itha alshshamsu kuwwirat Wa-itha alnnujoomu inkadarat [22]

Yusuf Ali: When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; When the stars FALL, losing their lustre;

Pickthal: When the sun is overthrown, And when the stars FALL,

Shakir: When the sun is covered, And when the stars FALL,
Qur'an 81:1-2

The Literal translation of 81:2 is:

  • Wa = And
  • Idha = when
  • An = The
  • Nujumu = stars
  • Ankadarat = Fall and break into pieces

So, according to Quran 81:2, the stars will "fall" and "break into pieces". Note that verse uses "Nujumu" = stars (plural) not "Najm" = star (singular). The root word of "Ankadarat" is "Kadarah" which literally means: "fall and break into pieces." This word should not be translated as "explosion" or "explode" because they are two completely different concepts/events. If you drop a glass on the floor and it shatters, does that mean you can say it exploded? No! What about suicide bombers who strap explosives to themselves? After they detonate, do we say that they "fell and broke into pieces"? No, of course not!

A star is an enormously huge astronomical object that is very intense in both light and heat. A good example would be our Sun (which is also a star). The Sun is only an average star and it is 10,000 times larger than the Earth. Despite being more than 149,000,000 (149 million) kilometres away from the Earth, we can still feel its heat from here. If the Earth got within even 1,000,000 (1 million) kilometres of the Sun, all life on the Earth would be destroyed by the intense heat. The next nearest star (Alpha Centauri) is 4.3 light years away from our solar system!

So, the questions we should ask are: If these stars are going to "fall", then where are they going to fall 'down' to? If these stars are going to fall to Earth, then the Earth would be destroyed before the first one ever managed to 'hit' us - not to mention the sheer size of the stars in relation to the size of Earth (Earth is a drop in the ocean). If a star 'hit' Earth (it has to break into pieces remember), then our planet would be obliterated, and the (much MUCH larger star) would escape unscathed. Therefore it does not seem likely that the stars would be able to 'fall' onto the Earth and 'break into pieces'. If the stars are going to 'fall' somewhere else, then where? The Universe is not 'flat' (with layers of 'things' ie. 'hells' first, then the Earth, then the 1st heaven with stars, then the other heavens on top of that).

This verse is, again, a product of the understanding of our universe at the time of Muhammad. Like his contemporaries in Arabia, he too believes that stars are little (much smaller than the planet Earth) bright lights hanging in the sky which Allah sometimes used to shoot at Jinns. This explains how the Quran could contain such an idea that stars could 'fall down' from the sky and 'break into pieces' on/in the Earth when doomsday arrives.

Alleged scientific miracles in the Quran

The Big Bang (Quran 21:30)

Does the Quran really talk about the big bang?

Awa lam yara allatheena kafaroo anna alssamawati waal-arda kanata ratqan fafataqnahuma wajaAAalna mina alma-i kulla shay-in hayyin afala yu/minoona [23]

Do not those who disbelieve see that the heavens and the earth were sewn together, but We parted them ; and We have made of water everything living, will they not then believe?

The Arabic word "ratqaan" means "sewn together" There is no mention about the Heavens and the Earth being originally created in one piece and definitely no mention at all about any explosion. Rather, this verse shows clearly that the heavens and Earth were at one time 'sewn together' but were later parted. It does not need to be said that this is not scientific at all! Let's have a look at some verses from the book of Genesis in the Old Testament of the Bible, which was written at least 1,000 years before Muhammad was born:

And God said, "Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water." So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above it. And it was so. God called the expanse "sky." And there was evening, and there was morning—the second day.

And God said, "Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear." And it was so. God called the dry ground "land," and the gathered waters he called "seas." And God saw that it was good.

Then God said, "Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds." And it was so. The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. [24]

Later on in Genesis Chapter 1 Verses 20-22, the Bible says:

And God said, "Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the sky." So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living and moving thing with which the water teems, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. God blessed them and said, "Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth." [25]
Genesis 1:20-22 (NIV)

Comparing Genesis 1:6-12 & 20-22 with Quran 21:30 obviously shows that the Bible verses are far more scientific and far more sophisticated. Not only do they mention that Heaven and Earth were one unit originally, but they also mention that the Heaven and Earth were separated and how, subsequently, every living thing came from water. This is described in detail.

One might suspect that Muhammad involved in some plagiarism here, even though, again, Muhammad was just stating what was (at his time) 'common knowledge' and not anything special or new. When we also consider that Muhammad had daily contact with both Christians and Jews and many other non-Arabs, we can be certain that he had heard the stories contained in their books.

The Expanding Universe (Quran 51:47)

Does the Quran talk about our Universe expanding?

Waalssamaa banaynaha bi-aydin wa-inna lamoosiAAoona [26]

Yusuf Ali: With power and skill did We construct the Firmament: for it is We Who create the vastness of pace.

Pickthal: We have built the heaven with might, and We it is Who make the vast extent (thereof).

Shakir: And the heaven, We raised it high with power, and most surely We are the makers of things ample.

See above in the 3 most respected English translations, none of them mention anything about anexpanding universe. this is because 51:47 has nothing to do with the universe expanding. In Arabic, the word "Samaa" means "heaven" or "sky" (singular). "SamaaWat" means "heavens" (plural). Whenever the Quran talks about "the sky and beyond", it always uses the plural word "samaaWat" and not the singular word "Samaa." The Quran always says "sab'a SamaaWat" or "SamaaWat As-Sab'a" (which means the 7 Heavens). It never says "Sab'a samaa" or "samaa As-sab'a" as that is completely incorrect. Since it uses the singular and not the plural, then it is clearly only talking about the sky, so a correct translation of this verse would be: "And The sky, We built with might and We it is who make the vast extent."

Therefore Allah is saying that he built the sky and then he praises himself for having such a great and vast power.


The word that causes the most controversy in this verse is "lamusiun." It is important to state that in the context of 51:47, this word is the word Allah has used to describe the vastness and greatness of his power. In other words, "lamusiun" is used to describe Allah himself, and not and expanding universe. If the Quran wanted to talk about an expanding Universe,it would have used the word "noosi'uhaa" which means "we are expanding it." That would have prevented all the misunderstanding and the Quran would have used the word "sammaaWat" (Heavens). Unfortunately, the word "noosi'uhaa" is nowhere to be found in the Quran.

The Rotation of the Earth (Quran 39:5)

Does the Quran talk about the rotation of the Earth?

Khalaqa alssamawati waal-arda bialhaqqi yukawwiru allayla AAala alnnahari wayukawwiru alnnahara AAala allayli wasakhkhara alshshamsa waalqamara kullun yajree li-ajalin musamman ala huwa alAAazeezu alghaffaru [27]

Yusuf Ali: He created the heavens and the earth in true (proportions): He makes the Night overlap the Day, and the Day overlap the Night: He has subjected the sun and the moon (to His law): Each one follows a course for a time appointed. Is not He the Exalted in Power - He Who forgives again and again?

Pickthal: He hath created the heavens and the earth with truth. He maketh night to succeed day, and He maketh day to succeed night, and He constraineth the sun and the moon to give service, each running on for an appointed term. Is not He the Mighty, the Forgiver?

Shakir: He has created the heavens and the earth with the truth; He makes the night cover the day and makes the day overtake the night, and He has made the sun and the moon subservient; each one runs on to an assigned term; now surely He is the Mighty, the great Forgiver.

In the 3 most respected English translations, none of the translators have mentioned anything about the rotation of the Earth. 39:5 is similar to Quran 51:47 (which is discussed in another section of this article) in that there is controversy over the meaning of a particular word. in this case, the word is "Kawwara." The phrase "Yukawwiru al-layla 'Alla An-Nahari" means: "Night (layla) overlap the Day (Nahar). The phrase "Yukawwiru An-Nahara 'Alla al-Layli" means: "Day (Nahar) overlap the Night (layla)." The word "Alaa" in these phrases means "over."

The Sun and Moon moving around and over the Earth (depending on your perspective) cause day and night. This explains what 'overlap' means in 39:5. Looking at Quran 7:54, we can see it echoes and reflects the meaning of 39:5:

Inna rabbakumu Allahu allathee khalaqa alssamawati waal-arda fee sittati ayyamin thumma istawa AAala alAAarshi yughshee allayla alnnahara yatlubuhu hatheethan waalshshamsa waalqamara waalnnujooma musakhkharatin bi-amrihi ala lahu alkhalqu waal-amru tabaraka Allahu rabbu alAAalameena [28]

Yusuf Ali: Your Guardian-Lord is Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth in six days, and is firmly established on the throne (of authority): He draweth the night as a veil over the day, each seeking the other in rapid succession: He created the sun, the moon, and the stars, (all) governed by laws under His command. Is it not His to create and to govern? Blessed be Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds!

Pickthal: Lo! your Lord is Allah Who created the heavens and the earth in six Days, then mounted He the Throne. He covers the night with the day, which is in haste to follow it, and hath made the sun and the moon and the stars subservient by His command. His verily is all creation and commandment. Blessed be Allah, the Lord of the Worlds!

Shakir: Surely your Lord is Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth in six periods of time, and He is firm in power; He throws the veil of night over the day, which it pursues incessantly; and (He created) the sun and the moon and the stars, made subservient by His command; surely His is the creation and the command; blessed is Allah, the Lord of the worlds.

The highlighted phrase can also be translated as: "He brings the night as a cover over the day."

Returning to the word "Kawwara." This word has 2 conflicting meanings:

  • Overlap (the more common meaning)
  • Make in the shape of a ball (the less common meaning)

If we stick to the common meaning (overlap), then its context in 39:5 (with the word "Alaa" - "over") is correct. Of course this is taking into account the level of knowledge of 7th Century Arabians.

If however, one wants to use the less common meaning - to make in the shape of a ball - and then use that to claim it is talking about rotation, then they will encounter problems. First, neither the day nor the night are made 'in the shape of a ball' over each other. Such a translation makes no sense at all Secondly, the meaning of 'make in the shape of a ball' does not fit with the word "Alaa" (over). The sentence makes no sense. Thirdly, the Arabic word for "Rotate" is "Dowrah" and not "Kawwara." If 39:5 was really talking about the rotation of the Earth, it would have used "Dowrah" - or a word that comes from "Dowrah". This would have been quite a simple matter. It would not have used a word like "Kawwara", which would create unnecessary confusion as to the intended meaning. Not surprisingly, the word "Dowrah" is not found in the Quran.

To further elaborate, during Muhammad's time, the Arabs believed that the world (Earth) was a big flat thing. Directly above it there are 7 heavens (like layers). Below the earth there are 7 "hells" (again in layers). They believed that the sky was directly below the 7 heavens - and was like a 'tent' in the shape of a dome that covered the Earth. Of course the opinion was that the Universe was geocentric (ie. everything in the Universe revolves around the Earth). The Earth itself was believed to be fixed and unmovable. That's also why you will never find the words "Arda" (Earth) and "Falak" (Move) together in the Quran. Of course Muhammad would have (most likely) held the beliefs of his contemporaries (ie. he would not have been advanced in the sciences), but this lack of knowledge is reflected in the Quran. The Quran does not mention words like "galaxy" or "solar system" or "asteroid" because Muhammad had no knowledge of these things. If the Quran is truly from God, then you should think there would be such mentions, right?

Muhammad

The biggest flaw of Islam is Muhammad himself. If Muhammad is shown to have lost his credibility at all, or his claims are disproved, then Islam is brought down completely; since Islam began entirely with Muhammad.

A Brief Analysis of Muhammad

If one wishes to be a Muslim, he must first recognize the regard Muhammad as his holy prophet. In Islam, Muhammad is not just any ordinary prophet; he is the highest of all the prophets. He is higher than all other creatures and his status is higher than that of the Angels! He is literally second only to Allah himself. Can you really accept Muhammad as a prophet? Not only that, but the highest being in all creation?

Looking at his life, Muhammad was mentally unstable, was a trouble-maker, fickle-minded, was a caravan raider, dictator, violent, intolerant and he killed many people in his life (often for small 'crimes' such as satirical poetry). Muhammad's sexual appetite and his appetite for young girls and women is truly perverse. After Khadija died, with the exception of Sawda, whom Muhammad wanted to divorce (Quran 4:129 and this article), all of Muhammad's wives were quite young (teenagers and younger); including a Jewish slave girl (saffiya), a 6 year old child (Aisha) and even the wife of his adopted son! (Zainab was Zaid's wife before Muhammad's). Such a person does not even qualify as a sane, normal person, let alone a prophet - and definitely cannot qualify as the 'highest prophet'. So, unless God is Satan, there is no way Muhammad could have possibly been a prophet. the truth is that Muhammad was a despicable conman and an evil, maniacal dictator - like Ghengis Khan or Adolf Hitler.

Some apologists for Islam say that Arabia was a terrible place before Muhammad arrived on the scene. This is completely untrue. Ask this question: If Arabia was such a terrible place before Muhammad began his prophethood (aged 40), then why were there so many foreigners (Jews and Christians) living in Arabia during that time? If the place had such a bad reputation then people would not dare to travel there, let alone settle down! No one would be stupid enough to migrate to another country/region is it is a war zone. In actual fact, Arabia was a peaceful place before Muhammad began his prophethood. Many foreigners took the opportunity to settle and open businesses there. The pagan Arabs were a very peaceful and peace-loving people. It is often claimed that during the pre-Arabian era that the pagans would "bury their [female] children alive." Indeed the Quran makes this claim. However, it is highly doubtful that, if this actually occurred at all, that it was a widespread activity. Why? Because it makes no sense! Let us say it is true, and that women were burying their daughters alive en masse. The Question becomes: How did the Arabs manage to survive? If there was a serious shortage of females, the lack of sexual partners (female) would have led to (a) not many children being born and (b) a serious lack of genetic diversity among the offspring (because they shared a small pool of mothers). The Arabs would have died out before Muhammad brought Islam. Just these issues alone show that, if it was true, then it was not as widespread as the apologists would have us believe. This is not to say that Arabia was as civilized as we are today, but they did the best they could at the time. Things were definitely better before the advent of Islam.

Some apologists would have us believe that the pagan Arabs in Mecca were evil and that they were the 'bad guys' (and not Muhammad). But when we examine the Islamic texts for ourselves we can see that it was in fact Muhammad who was the evil one. He was constantly creating trouble for his neighbours and the town in which he lives. The pagan Arabs were very tolerant of his meddling - too tolerant as history has shown. They did not disturb him, and they even tried to sort out their differences with him (the Qurayash "bargain" aka the "Satanic verses"). Muhammad could not leave well enough alone, nor did he want to live in harmony - he wanted it all (money, fame, respect, worship, women, property, etc..) and wasn't prepared to share ("satanic verses" again). Eventually, the pagan Arabs could show no more tolerance for Muhammad's trouble-making and they eventually asked him to leave. If the Arabs were the 'bad guys' as Muslims claim, why didn't the pagans kill him when he was weak and powerless? Why did they just ask him to leave? Again the apologetics does not stand up to the slightest scrutiny. Of course Muhammad could not have that! He went away, amassed his army (of stupid mercenaries who were tempted by women - slaves - and booty) and he showed his true colours. He eventually killed most of the pagans and conquered Mecca. Simply put, Muhammad is no different from Atilla the Hun, Ghengis Khan, Adolf Hitler or Josef Stalin - except maybe in terms of current adherents.

The 5 pillars

Let's examine the 5 pillars of Islam, where we can clearly see that Muhammad is an inseparable part of Islam:

The Shahada

Ash hadu ala ilah ha ilahlah wa ash hau anna Muhammadah Rasullulah

I testify that there is no god but Allah and I testify that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah

You cannot recite only: "I testify that there is no god but Allah" and not recite the rest. That is "haraam" (forbidden). You must recite it all. In fact, the Shahada only came into existence after Muhammad came onto the scene. Before that, there was never such a creed (ie. swearing allegiance to the 'latest' or any prophet!). Regarding this first fundamental pillar, Muhammad is inseparable.


Salah (prayer)

This ritual of praying 5 times a day was only created and institutionalized by Muhammad - it did not exist before. The Quran mandates 3 daily prayers, but due to his argument with Musa in Heaven during his Miraj, Muhammad had it upped to 5 prayers per day. During the prayers, the Shahada must be constantly recited (brainwashing?) When Muslims pray, they must bow down in a humiliating position and they must face Mecca - the birthplace of Muhammad. When they pray they cannot face any other direction. Why do they face Mecca? Because Muhammad and his companions (former pagans) idolized the Ka'ba (former pagan temple) which is in Mecca, and the 'black stone' (former pagan rock idol symbolizing the moon god) which is now lodged in the wall of the Ka'ba. Of course prayer is done in Arabic - you guessed it! Muhammad's language.

Imagine having to bow down to Saudi Arabia five times every day and speaking lots of Arabic (that you most likely to not understand)! It is like an indirect submission (in your humiliating prayer position) to Arab 'cultural supremacy'. That is so racist! It is pure, sadistic racism! In this second pillar, we see that Muhammad is, again, inseparable.

Zakat & Sawm (Charity & Fasting)

Like the 5 daily prayers, the requirement for Muslims to fast during the month of Ramadan, and also the Zakat, were created by Muhammad. The Zakat is actually a tax which is set at 2.5% of a Muslim's annual income. Although it is called "charity" it is not, because charity is voluntary - if you set the amount and make it obligatory (one of the 5 pillars) then it is indeed a tax, as it is no longer voluntary. Fasting during Ramadan was also a pre-Islamic practice that Muhammad incorporated into Islam, along with oh so many pagan rituals.

Hajj

This is undeniably the most pagan and superstitious of all the Islamic rituals. Firstly, the Hajj is performed in Mecca - Muhammad's birthplace. Secondly, all the rites and rituals performed during the Hajj were created by the pagans, and institutionalized in Islam after Muhammad appropriated them (and the Ka'ba of course). Despite the claims of the Quran, no Biblical characters ever practised Islam or performed the Hajj.


So there you have it! All 5 pillars of Islam are very closely related to Muhammad. Without Muhammad, they would not, and indeed, could not exist. Additionally, Muhammad is inseparable even from the Quran and the ahadith. Every word in the Quran came only from the mouth of Muhammad - indeed much of the Quran deals with Muhammad's own day-to-day life (always giving him everything he wants of course!). If you took Muhammad out of the equation, then Islam and everything that came with it would never have existed (again, despite the claims of the Quran). Lastly, of course the whole purpose of the ahadith is to record the Sunnah of Muhammad, so if you take Muhammad away then the ahadith are gone too!

Evidently Islam and Muhammad are inseparable. In short, Islam is Muhammadanism - and Muslims are true Muhammadans.

Was Muhammad illiterate?

Last but not least, Muhammad was not illiterate.

On the websites below, you will see how much Muslims themselves distrust and reject the ahadith. It clearly shows how unreliable, untrustworthy and dubious they are - or it could simply be a case of disgust about what is written in them about their "Uswa Hasana."

Islamic apologetics

Muslim apologists resort to all sorts of ridiculous interpretations in order to 'defend' the many flaws in the Quran and the ahadith - no matter how ridiculous they seem. These interpretations have, over time, given rise to the foolish claims that the Quran is a book full of scientific statements; a handful of which have been refuted earlier in this article.

How ridiculous is it to believe that the Quran and the ahadith 'do not actually mean what they say'- that they 'mean something else'? Apologists believe that their texts are 'open to interpretation' - and indeed some are because they are poorly written or vague - but the majority are not.

The Apologists only strength

It is clear to the un-indoctrinated, that the 3 main pillars of Islam - Muhammad, the Quran & the ahadith are full of flaws and weaknesses, mistakes and absurdities. By tearing apart Muhammad, the Quran & the ahadith completely, Islam is finished. However there is one line of defense, and Muslim apologists take full advantage of it - it is the only line of defense they have: the Arabic language. This is the only line of defense they have, because their texts are full of flaws; as well as various other weaknesses; and the character of Muhammad (the alleged "best example of conduct") is truly abhorrent. So, when discussing or debating Islam, the apologists will attempt to take advantage of the non-Arabs' ignorance of Arabic in order to trick and con people into believing their lies. They will twist and turn their words in order to get away from a losing battle.

Dismantling Muslim apologists

As we all know, Muslim apologists are some of the most dishonest, cunning, deceitful conmen in the world. These people delight in attacking other people's precious beliefs, but when shown the countless flaws in their own texts and the flaws in Muhammad (their "Uswa Hasana"), they simply refuse to accept it, and they use every means possible in their attempt to 'defend' the indefensible.

What apologists like to do is make up all kinds of fantastic statements, and say al kinds of wonderful things - the truth be damned. For example, they may quote you one or two verses from the Quran or some ahadith in support of their fanciful imaginings. Those that are gullible (and those who do not check the sources for themselves). Western converts are infamous for this - they swallow the dawaganda: hook.line & sinker, without even bothering to research Islam properly before 'reverting'. It is not so difficult; the Quran is online, the tafseers are online, and so are the major ahadith collections. It is simple laziness on their part and they pay the consequences (unless they are vile people who are suited to emulating Muhammad - his Sunnah is truly horrific).

The moral of the story here is: be sceptical and DO your research.

Debate tactics

From experience, the best way to knock down the Quran and the ahadith when you are debating with Muslim apologists is to use the Quran to attack the Quran itself (ie. Quran vs. Quran) and use the ahadith to attack the ahadith.

For example, in Quran 10:5, it clearly says that Allah made the moon as a light (ie. it emits its own light). Quran 25:61 and Quran 71:6 further confirm this blunder. There is no doubt at all that this is absolutely 100% wrong. However, if a stubborn apologist tries to say the word "Nur" means "reflected light" instead of just "light" (light is correct), then you may argue that Quran 2:257, Quran 4:174, Quran 5:46, Quran 6:1, Quran 6:22, Quran 7:157, Quran 9:32, Quran 33:43, Quran 33:46, Quran 35:25, Quran 42:52, Quran 57:9, Quran 61:8 & Quran 64:8 would make absolutely no sense at all! Also don't forget to present Quran 24:35 to them - according to their interpretation of "Nur", Allah himself must then be a reflected light! Will the apologist be willing to accept such an insult - a blasphemy on Allah?

Another example of a Quranic problem is this: In Quran 21:33 & Quran 36:40, the word "kull"', which means "Each" or "Every" cleary refers to the Sun and Moon only. If you find some stubborn apologist who insists that "kull" in these verses clearly refers to "everything in the Universe", then he has a big problem. The word "Kull" is found in many verses in the Quran, sometimes referring to people, sometimes referring to animals, etc. If "kull" means "everything in the Universe", then many verses of the Quran are clearly in great error and make absolutely no sense at all.

The best advice is to always keep them on the defense. They will sooner or later fall apart completely. The advantage is with you.
