There are many teachings in Islamic texts that can be considered positive, but most of these are either commonsense or negated by preconditions or more prominent, contradictory teachings.
Charity
There are more than thirty verses in the Qur'an praising charity, but surah 2:273 adds the condition that this charity is only for those in Allah's cause who are needy (i.e poor Muslims).[1]
Family
Surah 4:36 says to be kind to family members, but surahs 9:23 and 9:113-114 limit this kindness to Muslim family members.[2][3]

Good Teachings in the Quran move to Positive Teachings in Islam
Be truthful
Confound not truth with falsehood, nor knowingly conceal the truth.
Give charity
Establish worship, pay the poor-due, and bow your heads with those who bow (in worship).
Be good to people
And (remember) when We made a covenant with the Children of Israel, (saying): Worship none save Allah (only), and be good to parents and to kindred and to orphans and the needy, and speak kindly to mankind; and establish worship and pay the poor-due. Then, after that, ye slid back, save a few of you, being averse.
Be a good person
Spend your wealth for the cause of Allah, and be not cast by your own hands to ruin; and do good. Lo! Allah loveth the beneficent.
Respect orphans
Lo! Those who devour the wealth of orphans wrongfully, they do but swallow fire into their bellies, and they will be exposed to burning flame.
Be good to family
And serve Allah. Ascribe no thing as partner unto Him. (Show) kindness unto parents, and unto near kindred, and orphans, and the needy, and unto the neighbour who is of kin (unto you) and the neighbour who is not of kin, and the fellow-traveller and the wayfarer and (the slaves) whom your right hands possess. Lo! Allah loveth not such as are proud and boastful,
A religion of peace
And if they incline to peace, incline thou also to it, and trust in Allah. Lo! He, even He, is the Hearer, the Knower.
Then bear with them (O Muhammad) and say: Peace. But they will come to know.
Suppress anger
Those who spend (of that which Allah hath given them) in ease and in adversity, those who control their wrath and are forgiving toward mankind; Allah loveth the good;
Dont be arrogant
Turn not thy cheek in scorn toward folk, nor walk with pertness in the land. Lo! Allah loveth not each braggart boaster.
Don't make fun of others
O ye who believe! Let not a folk deride a folk who may be better than they (are), not let women (deride) women who may be better than they are; neither defame one another, nor insult one another by nicknames. Bad is the name of lewdness after faith. And whoso turneth not in repentance, such are evil-doers.
Embrace diversity
O mankind! Lo! We have created you male and female, and have made you nations and tribes that ye may know one another. Lo! the noblest of you, in the sight of Allah, is the best in conduct. Lo! Allah is Knower, Aware.
