Miracles are often presented as proof that Islam is from Allah, or God. This page lists summaries of articles on the wiki that are related to Miracles.
Qur'anic Miracles
Scientific miracles
Scientific miracles are claims that the Quran talks about things that weren't known 1400 years ago and which prove, therefore, that Muhammad couldn't be the author of the Quran. However, the Quran has almost certainly never been the source of a scientific discovery. Instead, scientific discoveries, after having been discovered independent of the Quran have often been used to reinterpret relatively vague verses of Quran to attempt to demonstrate the scripture's foresight. This articles provides an overview of this phenomenon, which has frequently had embarrassing outcomes.
Word Count Miracles in the Qur'an
One of the most common types of miracle claims made regarding the Quran is that it includes specific words in specific quantities in such a manner as would have been impossible to achieve by a human being compiling a book over 23 years in a non-chronological manner. For instance, one of the most popular claims of miracles is that the word yawm (singular of day) is repeated 365 times in the Qur'an, its plural and dual forms "days (ayyam and yawmayn)" together are repeated 30 times, while the number of repetitions of the word "month" (shahar) is 12. However, this and similar counts are usually manipulated, generally in unstated ways, to produce their striking totals. Most people do not have the time or energy to assess the data for themselves - this collection of articles presents the complete word counts and data on these alleged miracles so that people can judge for themselves.
