===[[What Arab Civilization?]]=== | ===[[What Arab Civilization?]]=== | ||
:The intent of this article seems to be to claim about how Arab/Islamic culture is barbaric and inferior to that of the Assyrians and other non-Muslim civilizations that were prevailent at the time of the Islamic Conquests, and that the Arabs just 'stole' their accomplishments, not to criticise Islam, and is thus irrelevant to this site's mission. In addition, saying that a civilisation's achievements do not count because they were based upon a preceding civilizations seems to be rather poor historiography, which goes against the site's goal of being as scholarly as possible. Finally, the author uses highly sensational language ("Arab/Islamic civilization is not a progressive force, it is a regressive force; it does not give impetus, it retards"..."If the "foreign" culture cannot be destroyed, then it is expropriated, and revisionist historians claim that it is and was Arab, as is the case of most of the Arab "accomplishments" you cited in your speech") to get his point across, which violates this site's policy of avoiding "sensationalist and extremist expressions". Since this article largely consists of a letter written by a third party that is not affiliated with this site, I beleive this should be taken down.
