Lying in general, as well as in specific situations such as commercial transactions is condemned in various hadiths, and the Qur'an condemns various groups for (allegedly) lying about Allah and Muhammad. Lying is generally also considered a sin for believers and truthfulness a virtue by Islamic jurists, though certain exceptions are permitted.
